Windmill Training offer schools a wide variety of opportunities to access practical and realistic learning environment bringing the national curriculum alive. We offer land-based courses including agriculture, horticulture, construction, landscaping etc from Yeovil and near Bridport; as well as Animal Care in conjunction with the Wildlife Park at Cricket-st-Thomas.
Some examples of how we currently work with schools of all key stages include:-
Farm Walks—Available to all key stages the walk not only shows them how and where there food is produced but in-conjunction with the schools national curriculum subjects can be covered. For ideas click on the Access to Farms logo above.
Field Trips- Available to all key stages where Windmill Farm resources can be used to study national curriculum subjects hands on. For ideas click on the Access to Farms logo above.
Work Experience Groups can come to Windmill Farm for a days work experience, helping to complete farm tasks with the farmer.
Pre-voc Courses We offer pre-voc courses. These have a format of attending Windmill Farm or the Wildlife Park one day per week through out the year. We cover Agriculture, Animal Care, Construction and Environmental Conservation.
Distance Learning Students can complete key skills through distance packages based on the daily workings of the farm or the Wildlife Park. |
